ROADMAP TO HARMONISE YOUTH-FOCUSED ACTIVITIES
In a decisive step towards empowering young people in Ghana, the Ministry of Youth Development and Empowerment convened a high-level meeting on Friday 6th February 2026 with its agencies to harmonise activities and chart a unified course for youth development.
The session focused on transitioning from traditional apprenticeship models to sustainable entrepreneurship, with the aim of creating a coherent and efficient framework for youth interventions.
The meeting brought together the Chief Executive Officers of the National Youth Authority, the National Entrepreneurship Innovation Programme, the Youth Employment Agency and the Director General of the National Service Authority who underscored the importance of synchronising all initiatives within the youth sector. They highlighted the need to strengthen coordination across agencies, eliminate duplication of efforts and improve policy coherence to ensure maximum impact.

Speaking at the gathering, the technical advisor to the Minister for Youth Development and Empowerment, Mona Iddrisu emphasized that entrepreneurship offers young people a pathway to innovation, self-reliance, and long-term economic participation.
They agreed that fragmented approaches have often diluted impact and a unified roadmap is essential to deliver meaningful results.
The Ministry reaffirmed its dedication to building a future where young people are not only skilled but also empowered to create jobs, drive innovation, and contribute to national development.
By aligning policies and programs, the government aims to transform youth interventions into a cohesive engine for entrepreneurship and economic growth.
